Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1 Monitors Market Conditions and Prices of Chiang Rai’s Geographical Identity Product (Phulae Pineapple)

5–7 July 2026 – Ms. Sucharee Picha, Director of the Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1 (OAE Region 1), together with officials, conducted a field visit to monitor the market situation and prices of Chiang Rai’s local identity product, Phulae pineapple, at the Phulae Pineapple Large-Scale Farming Group in Ban Pong Phra Bat, Ban Du Subdistrict, Chiang Rai Province.

According to interviews with farmers regarding prices and production, the farm-gate price of fresh Phulae pineapples was 5 baht per kilogram, while the purchasing price offered by traders in July was 9 baht per kilogram.

For peeled, ready-to-eat Phulae pineapples, packed in foam boxes weighing approximately 15 kilograms per box, the selling price ranged from 800 to 850 baht per box. This represents an increase from the previous month, when prices were approximately 600 to 650 baht per box. The main factors behind the price increase were lower production compared with the previous year and continued strong domestic demand. The principal destination markets include Khon Kaen Market, Talad Thai, and modern retail trade (Modern Trade) outlets. In addition, the farmer group requested support from relevant government agencies to implement measures to stabilize prices. Specifically, they asked that the price of fresh Phulae pineapples be maintained at no less than 5 baht per kilogram to help safeguard farmers’ incomes.
