On Monday, August 24, 2026, Ms. Sucharee Picha, Director of Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1 (OAE Region 1), Chiang Mai, assigned OAE Region 1 officials to participate in the technology transfer activity on quality rice seed production, entitled “One Good Seed Can Transform Production Costs and Farmers’ Futures,” under the Project to Support Agricultural Production Cost Reduction for Rice Farmers, at the Chiang Rai Rice Seed Center, Dong Mada Subdistrict, Mae Lao District, Chiang Rai Province. The opening ceremony, entitled “Joining Forces for Quality Seeds: Opening the Chiang Rai Rice Seed Hub,” was presided over by Mr. Kritthin Khamtan, Deputy Director-General of the Rice Department, and attended by Mr. Norrasak Suksomboon, Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Province, heads of government agencies, and farmers. The event featured six learning stations: 1) Rice Field Classroom, 2) Real Testing, Real Results, 3) From Paddy Rice to Planting-Ready Seeds, 4) Proper Storage to Maintain Seed Quality, 5) Rice Innovation Connect Exhibition, and 6) One Rice Seed, Multiple Ways to Create Value. In addition, a panel discussion was held to provide farmers with knowledge and practical guidance on how to reduce rice production costs while ensuring market demand and promoting environmental sustainability.
