On 3 December 2025, Ms. Sucharee Pitcha, Director of the Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1, assigned officials from the Agricultural Information Division to join a field visit accompanying the inspection tour in Lampang Province by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Captain Thammanat Prompao).
The delegation visited Thoen City Public Park in Lom Raet Subdistrict, Thoen District, and Mae Pu Subdistrict Municipality, Mae Phrik District, Lampang Province, to follow up on the progress of water resource development projects and the dredging of the Wang River to prevent riverbank erosion, with an aim to achieve sustainable water management. They also met with local farmers.
Mr. Kritsana Pinit, Deputy Governor of Lampang Province, welcomed the delegation and listened to a briefing on the water resource development plan and the construction of the Mae Wang Ban Lao floodgate by representatives from the Royal Irrigation Department. This project is considered a key initiative for agricultural water management in the area. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives instructed the relevant agencies to expedite the implementation according to the planned timeline so that farmers and local residents can benefit from water use for consumption and agriculture as soon as possible. He also delivered policy directives and monitored the project’s progress to ensure that operations meet the targets and effectively resolve water-related issues for the people.
