Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1 Participates in the Northern Coffee Production Promotion Project “Care, Cultivate, Quality Coffee at Mae Hong Son”

On September 30, 2025, Mrs. Sucharee Picha, Director of the Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1, assigned officers from the Agricultural Information Division to participate in the project titled “Care, Cultivate, Quality Coffee at Mae Hong Son,” which aims to promote and raise awareness about northern coffee production across the entire supply chain.

The event’s objectives were to raise awareness and publicize the use of high-quality coffee varieties among farmers to produce premium coffee, create sustainable careers and income, increase green spaces, and encourage farmers to acquire knowledge and skills. It also aimed to help them apply technological innovations to enhance the efficiency of quality coffee production, manage and develop coffee across the entire supply chain, and promote the expansion of Arabica coffee plantations in Mae Hong Son Province. This aligns with the province’s development plan and future market demands.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Suriya Khampuang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension. The welcoming speech was delivered by Acting Sub-Lieutenant Yuttana Jaoduree, District Chief of Mueang Mae Hong Son, and the project report was presented by Mr. Payungsak Sitthilop, Mae Hong Son Provincial Agricultural Officer. The event was attended by heads of relevant government agencies and took place at the coffee plantation of Mr. Somsak Mahlarkoon, located in Ban Phanorkhee, Village No. 9, Huai Pong Sub-district, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province.
