On September 11, 2025, Ms. Sucharee Picha, Director of the Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1, assigned Ms. Wipawan Srichamnong, Policy and Plan Analyst Professional, to participate in the “Kick Off Announcement of Soil and Water Conservation Villages” 2025 event, held at Ban San Muen Kaeo, Village No. 10, Mae Puem Sub-district, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province. Dr. Taweesak Thanadechopol, Director-General of the Land Development Department, presided over the opening ceremony.
The implementation of the Soil and Water Conservation Village project aims to develop and address issues based on the specific conditions of each watershed area, enabling more efficient and sustainable land use. The initiative also demonstrates to farmers the benefits of soil and water conservation, promotes land use planning, and supports soil rehabilitation based on soil potential.
In 2025, there are 12 pilot areas for Soil and Water Conservation Villages across 12 provinces, including Phayao, Saraburi, Prachinburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Phanom, Nong Khai, Lamphun, Phitsanulok, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Chumphon, and Trang.
