Mission and Responsibilities of the Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1 (OAE1)
The Office of Agricultural Economics Region 1 (OAE1) operates under the mission defined by the Ministerial Regulations and the Agricultural Economics Act B.E. 2522 (1979). The internal organizational structure is divided into three divisions and one administrative section, as follows:
1) General Administration Section
Responsibilities:
1.1) Handle general administration, finance and accounting, and procurement of equipment and supplies for OAE1.
1.2) Coordinate the preparation of work plans and budgets of OAE1 with the central office.
1.3) Coordinate, monitor, and report on the performance and financial disbursement of OAE1 to the central office.
2) Agricultural Information Division
Responsibilities:
2.1) Plan and conduct surveys to collect primary data on agricultural production in the field within the area of responsibility, and verify the accuracy of preliminary data.
2.2) Record, process, and analyze data related to agricultural production at the provincial/district level in the responsible area, and report preliminary analysis results to the central office.
2.3) Prepare final data reports and disseminate agricultural information to relevant agencies and farmers within the responsible area.
3) Agricultural Economic Zone Development Planning Division
Responsibilities:
3.1) Study and analyze the linkages and consistency of the agricultural economic zone development plans with the agricultural and cooperative development plans in the responsible area.
3.2) Study, analyze, and report the agricultural economic situation and forecast future trends in the responsible area.
3.3) Study, analyze, and provide recommendations for the preparation of agricultural and cooperative action plans, and develop plans and projects for relevant government agencies in the local area.
4) Research and Evaluation Division
Responsibilities:
4.1) Study, analyze, monitor, and report on the situation of agricultural production, marketing, and prices received by farmers in the responsible area, and submit data to the central office.
4.2) Study, analyze, and conduct research on agricultural economics and the socio-economic conditions of farm households in the responsible area.
4.3) Monitor and evaluate the success and impacts of the implementation of various measures, programs, and projects, and report the results and provide recommendations to relevant government agencies in the local area.
